• Ethics in Real Estate - This online course covers duties to clients and customers, duties to the public, duties to brokers, and case studies.
• Tax Free Exchanges - The topics included in this course covers the basics of a tax free exchange of investment property. Topics covered include requirements of a tax free exchange, types of exchanges and the methods for transferring title when an exchange takes place.
• Overview of Real Estate Law - The subject matter of this continuing education course will cover themes such as provisional status, reciprocity agreements, real estate forms, continuing education, prelicensure, and the North Dakota Real Esate Commision.
• Contracts and Closing Statements - This course will provide knowledge for preclosing procedures, RESPA, closing staements, prorations, contracts used in real estate, discharge of contracts, federal and local laws and requirements, and pertinent legal information.

These are the current requirements for renewing your North Dakota Real Estate Broker license. We will always provide the newest information available and will update the requirements as soon as there are changes.


• To renew your Real Estate Broker License in the state of North Dakota, you are required to complete 16 hours of continuing education every 2 years.
• 16 hours of continuing education must be completed every 2 years. 6 of the hours must be completed in the first year.
• The Commission will approve courses taken for continuing education. Brokers may complete their continuing education by lectures, seminars, courses of instruction, and correspondence courses that have been approved by the Commission.
• At the end of the two-year renewal, continuing education completion verification must be submitted to the Commission with renewal application and fee’s.
